Professor Anders was a civilian researcher aboard the UNSC Spirit of Fire during the Second Battle of Harvest. She was granted her own quarters, the view of surrounding space "adding perspective to her work."[1] A relic on the surface having been detected, albeit with Covenant forces in the vicinity, Anders resolved to head down to investigate, despite protests from Sergeant John Forge.[2][3]. Captain Cutter agreed to the mission, but ordered that Anders be extracted should there be any sign of danger.[1]
One of the early levels in Halo Wars involves rescuing Anders from a Covenant outpost. She appears on the battlefield as a hero unit similar to Sergeant Forge. Her in-game abilities have not been confirmed, though it appears she may function as an "engineer" type unit on the battlefield [4].
