Alpha Aurigae, also known as Capella, was a UNSC-colonized star system, located 42.2 light-years from Sol.

The system was the site of the Skirmish at Capella between the UNSC Gorgon and Insurrectionist forces in May 2502.[1] The skirmish resulted in the deaths of thirty-two crew members of the Gorgon and damages which required a month laid up in space dock to repair.

On October 21, 2526 the system was invaded by the Covenant. Admiral Cole's fleet responded, defeating the Covenant fleet in the Origami Asteroid Field within the system, but taking heavy casualties in the battle.[2] The fate of the colony, whether it was glassed or not, and the state of any survivors, is unknown.

Preston Cole was known to occasionally enjoy Vodka produced in the system.[3]
