John-117, inside the armory of a UNSCDF Space Station, (Cairo Station).

An Armory, is a storage room for weapons and are quite common on UNSC ships and bases.

Halcyon-class Cruisers have at least two armories; one near the Bridge and a larger one near Engineering. An armory can hold virtually any UNSC weapon: Shotguns, Assault Rifles, Pistols or Rocket Launchers.

During the crucial events of the Battle of Installation 04, the Halcyon-class cruiser UNSC Pillar of Autumn's armories were almost completely emptied of their weaponry during a raid on the crashed ship by UNSC forces. The retrieved weapons were taken by Pelicans to Alpha Base and distributed to the personnel. Unfortunately, this made it harder for John-117 to battle the Flood and the Covenant at the same time during his mission on board the Autumn to activate the ship's reactor core to destroy the ring.

Among the weapons that were noticeably absent from the Autumn's armory were Sniper Rifles and pistols. However, many shotguns, Assault Rifles and Rocket Launchers and ammunition for these weapons were still in their racks, though some weapons were scattered everywhere with no ammunition at all in them. Why UNSC forces failed to retrieve and reconcile these weapons, is unknown.

Trivia

  • For some reason in the Cairo Station armory their are food canisters.
  • In the Halo 2 armory, there are various movable objects, including boxes and MREs.
  • In Halo: CE, the armory is only viewed twice. In the level Pillar of Autumn, you would only see wounded and dead Marines. In the level The Maw, the player is advised to stock up on weapons before setting off the reactors in the Engineering. It is also the place where the player will encounter camouflaged Flood Combat Forms.
  • In Halo 2 the unknown Master Gunnery Sergeant who tested Master Chief's battle suit was killed by two Elites in the A-01 Armoury.
