ONI Recon 111 is a UNSC Office of Naval Intelligence military unit.[1]
Operational History
It was stationed nearby Voi, Kenya during the Second Battle of Earth and the Battle of Voi, and was tasked to report Covenant activity near a small section of Earth that had been glassed by Covenant warships.
ONI Recon 111 reported to Commander Miranda Keyes that there was something within the "crater" and shortly afterwards, Fleet Admiral Hood ordered a strike on the Covenant forces to force them back to the crater.
Other
- The unit is featured in the campaign level Tsavo Highway of Halo 3.[2]
- As a reconnaissance and intelligence unit, it is likely part of ONI Section I.
- This is the only time ONI is ever mentioned in the games.
