Template:Weapon The Missile Pod is a ground weapon used by the United Nations Space Command. It is a missile-launching weapon, holding up to eight highly explosive missiles. The Missile Pod is capable of tracking down targets.[1]
Operation
The Missile Pod can only carry eight rounds. Once picked up the player will appear in third-person view. Due to the weapon's weight, the user will run at a slower pace.[2] It is also harder to aim in this mode. This weapon is capable of tracking vehicles. Frank O'Connor has stated that the Missile Pod will replace the Halo 2 SPNKrs's ability to lock on to vehicles, since the Rocket Launcher no longer has this capability. But the ability of tracking vehicles comes at a cost; there is little splash damage to humans.
Trivia
- The Missile Pod is one of the current third-person view weapons. The other is the AIE-486H Heavy Machinegun, but a Covenant version of the turret (Plasma Turret) might also be in the final game. In the Et Tu, Brute? ViDoc, a Brute and the Arbiter are seen carrying one respectively.
- This weapon may possibly be the M19-B SAM Missile Launcher that was used by Alpha Company and Beta Company.
