It is an uncommon variant of the standard M12 Warthog LRV, but with a passenger section capable of holding ten passengers bolted between the driver section and the gunner section, resulting in a significant increase in overall length. Conceptually, it is a cousin of the Warthog Troop Transport. However, the Troop Transport Warthog only seats three Marines in the back.

- One was seen used by the United Rebel Front on the planet Victoria in the 111 Tauri System by the SPARTAN-IIs of Blue Team during the Raid on Camp New Hope.[2] It was used to transport the nukes the Spartans were sent to extract.
- Contrary to popular belief, it is not the transport Warthog seen in early Halo 2 renders or Halo 3 which is the M831 Troop Transport Warthog.
- It only appears in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx.
