The Covenant Cruiser[1] is a classification of a heavy-tonnage Covenant starship. The Cruiser are larger than CPV-class destroyers but are smaller than CCS-class battlecruisers. They are armed with five plasma turrets, but lack a compliment of supplementary Seraph-class starfighters.
This classification was between 300 meters and 1455 meters in length, longer than a Covenant Light Cruiser, yet shorter than a Covenant Carrier.
Appearances
- Six Covenant cruisers accompanied the Covenant flagship Ascendant Justice on a reconnaisance mission to the ruins of Alpha Halo after its destruction by U.N.S.C. forces. One cruiser had one of its five plasma turrets destroyed by the Master Chief, operating a C709 Longsword starfighter. After the Master Chief and a group of U.N.S.C. ground forces were able to hijack the flagship, one cruiser jumped to Slipspace to alert Covenant forces of the destruction of Alpha Halo and U.N.S.C. activity in the area.
