The Covenant Destroyer[1] is a warship classification within the Covenant Navy.

Background

This class of starship is extremely well-armed, boasting multiple pulse laser turrets, plasma torpedo launcher(s) and Seraph-class starfighters.

This dangerous warship classification has the distinctive three huge sections of heavier Covenant warships, mirroring the lethality of its larger cousins. They are used as escorts for battlegroups using larger ship classes, able to hold their own in combat protecting their battlegroup from threats.

Vessels of this Classification

Trivia

  • Jacob Keyes noted its weapons systems, saying it turned UNSC ships into "Swiss cheese".
  • Probably the most well-known ship of this class was the Bloodied Spirit, captured by three SPARTAN-IIs, Fred, Will, and Linda, in a haphazard plan which recovered captured nuclear warheads, eliminated another Brute-controlled destroyer, and gave them a much faster ship to take them to Onyx.
  • Jacob Keyes destroyed one with a maneuver later dubbed as the Keyes Loop at Sigma Octanus IV.
  • Covenant Destroyers are seen on the back cover of Halo Wars: Genesis.
  • The Destroyer is incorrectly referred to as a Carrier in some Halo Wars guides.
