Background

Glasgow Kiss was part of Admiral Carl "Buster" Patterson's task force sent to Onyx to retrieve Dr. Catherine Halsey, the SPARTAN-IIs of Blue Team, the SPARTAN-IIIs of Gamma Company, and alleged Forerunner artifacts from the world's Sentinel constructs. During the first attack on the Covenant ships in orbit above Onyx, it moved to protect the flagship UNSC Stalingrad from enemy fire. Glasgow Kiss was subsequently destroyed by plasma meant for the flagship, although many of her crew survived in escape pods.[2]

Historical Meaning

"Glasgow kiss" is a colloquialism used in the United Kingdom for a head butt. This, in turn, stems from the Scottish city of Glasgow.
