The Falcon Wing Aerial Descent Unit is a parachute utilized by the UNSC for aerial insertion of soldiers. The unit consists of a pack strapped onto a soldiers back that most likely contains a black, ram-air parachute. The Falcon is controlled by two ropes on either side of the user which can be used to maneuver the parachute during descent and affords the soldier the ability to choose their landing zone.
The Falcon Wing was used by Lieutenant Kurt Ambrose to test the determination of future SPARTAN-III Alpha Company when they arrived on Onyx by ordering the recruits to engage in a night jump over Camp Currahee.[1]
