Major is a field-grade commissioned officer rank of the UNSC Marine Corps, UNSC Army and UNSC Air Force, equal in rank to the Lieutenant Commander in the UNSC Navy.
A Major typically is found as executive officers or operations officers in units. However, they may be found in command of Battalions, such as the case of Major Antonio Silva in Halo: The Flood, or in service as a staff officer for larger units.
