Template:Ratings Template:Triple battle infobox The Rain Forest Wars[1] were a series of bloody conflicts between United Nations, Koslovic and Frieden forces.
Military Forces
All military forces are completely unknown at this time.
Timeline
2162
Armed conflict ripped through South America, as Koslovic, Frieden and UN forces clashed over ideological differences, sparking additional conflicts off-planet, such as the Argyre Planitia Campaign. This war brought a great deal of suffering to the people of Earth, and caused an enormous famine.
2170
In the post-war period, there were massive population surges, resulting in overpopulation. Coupled with the destruction and famine bred by the Rain Forest Wars, the economy threatened to destabilize.
Trivia
- A Soldier's Tale: Rainforest Wars was written about this event. This book is a favorite of CPO Franklin Mendez, and described as a "military classic" in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. [2]
- Two of Admiral Preston Cole's great-grandfathers (on his mother's side) served in the Rain Forest Wars. One did not survive. The other, Captain Oliver Franks, received the Bronze Star.[3]
- An early timeline had the Rain Forest Wars take place in 2170. This was changed a few months later in development.[4]
