Optimatch is an option in Halo 2 Xbox Live matchmaking. Optimatch allows you to search the gametypes and select the one you want to play, instead of being put into a random gametype by using the Quickmatch option.
The main advantage of Optimatch is that you have more control over what gametype you play. If you don't want to play Team Snipers, but you want to play Big Team Battle, then you simply select Big Team Battle. Another advantage of Optimatch is, if you want to play a ranked gametype, then you simply enter Optimatch and choose which gametype you want to play.
Playlists
- Rumble Pit
- Double Team
- Team Slayer
- Team Skirmish
- Team Training
- Team Snipers
- Team Hardcore
- Big Team Battle

- H2 Challenge
Steps
- Optimatch finds player that want to play the same playlist.
- Optimatch uses multiple criteria to group you fairly with other players. (Takes the longest)
- Optimatch Organizes players into teams and configures the game settings.
- Optimatch gives a 10 second count down before the game starts.
