The UNSC Hannibal was a United Nations Space Command Marathon-class Cruiser.
In 2552, Hannibal saw action at the First Battle of Reach[1]. The ship's MAC gun was disabled during the battle and thus being defenceless, was destroyed, probaby rammig a Covenant ship or using its remaining Archer-missiles as a last ditch effort. The ship is thought to have been destroyed along with all the lives of its crew.
Background
The ship may have been named after the ancient Carthaginian military leader, Hannibal.
