The Lotus Anti-Tank Mine is a type of UNSC area-denial ordnance that can be described as "flowerlike".[1]
The shaped charge[2] may be triggered in a number of ways. A proximity sensor.[3] makes the Lotus effective against lower hovering vehicles such as those used by the Covenant. The sensor may be enabled remotely[2] and its sensitivity altered for use against infantry.[4][2][3] The detonator also has a countdown mode and may be remotely triggered.[5]
The charge itself could penetrate a Scorpion Tank[1] The blasts from multiple mines disabled an Onyx Sentinel.[1]
The Lotus should not be confused with the TR/9_Antipersonnel_Mine or the Type 14 Magnetic/Anti-Tank Mine.
