In [[2558]], during [[Invasion of the UNSC Infinity|the attack]] on the {{UNSCShip|Infinity}}, Lancer was ordered to reinforce [[Fireteam Avalanche]] and [[Fireteam Kodiak]] at Fore Armory 12-7.{{Ref/SpOps|Episode=[[Invasion (Spartan Ops)|Invasion]]|Level=Engine of Destruction}} After securing the armory, Lancer was sent to Translight Deck 19-7 to reinforce [[Fireteam Crimson]].{{Ref/SpOps|Episode=[[Invasion (Spartan Ops)|Invasion]]|Level=Victory Lap}} Later, after Crimson [[Raid on Apex|secured]] "[[Apex]]," Lancer was sent in to guard the area.{{Ref/SpOps|Id=SOEUB|Episode=Expendable|Level=Unfinished Business}}

While protecting the Apex, Lancer discovered [[Warrens|a Covenant base]] in the nearby hills. Commander [[Sarah Palmer]] ordered Crimson to assist Lancer in destroying the base.{{Ref/SpOps|Id=SOEMR|Episode=Expendable|Level=Majestic Rescue}} Crimson regrouped with Lancer and together the two fireteams destroyed the shield wall protecting the generator. Lancer and Crimson made their way through the canyon and reached the entrance to the Covenant base. While the two fireteams were attacking the base, [[Jared Miller]] picked up a mysterious SOS signal, originating from a nearby cave. Lancer and Crimson made their way into the cave and discovered the captured [[Fireteam Switchback]]. Shortly thereafter, the Crimson and Switchback were evacuated.{{Ref/Reuse|SOEL}}

On [[2559#December|December 12, 2559]], Firetem Lancer was onboard {{UNSCShip|Infinity}} when it was [[Battle over Installation 07|ambushed]] by [[Banished]] forces upon arrival at [[Installation 07]]. As the ''Infinity'' fell to the Banished assault, [[Captain (NAVCOM)|Captain]] [[Thomas Lasky]] was evacuated from the ship, and Spartan [[Hudson Griffin]] ordered all Spartans to evacuate.{{Ref/Game|HI|Audio log (Halo Infinite)#Evacuation 2|Spartan Audio log|Detail=Evacuation #01 - Infinity Down}} At some point during the battle, Lancer's leader, Spartan Hedge, was captured by the Banished. He was taken to the [[House of Reckoning (location)|House of Reckoning]] in February 2560, after [[Battle of the Mortal Reverie|the Banished's assault]] on the wreckage of {{UNSCShip|Mortal Reverie}}. Hedge, along with [[Gunnery Sergeant]] [[Elena Bobrov]], [[Lance Corporal]] [[Singh (Installation 07)|Singh]], and a [[Sangheili]] they nicknamed "[[Doc]]", were forced to participate in the Trials of Atriox, a ritual devised by [[War Chief]] [[Escharum]] in which UNSC survivors were to defend a large room from multiple waves of Banished troops.
