Abbu are a species of flora that are edible for Sangheili. During their long exile on Netherop, the Defenders of the Sanctum grew abbu inside the Sanctum of the Ancients alongside rishe, wuff, peks and banaqs. After the Divine Hand was stolen at the end of the Battle of Netherop, the Sanctum stopped providing these life-sustaining crops for the remaining survivors - Nizat 'Kvarosee and Tam 'Lakosee - resulting in the entire harvest rotting and growing bitter.[1]
