Ardent Hunters are the longest-serving Mgalekgolo in the Banished.[2][3]
Overview[edit]
Ardent Hunters almost always sport red and steel colored armor with red tinted assault cannons and eyes as opposed to the usual green. Their assault cannons have been overclocked and modified to focus unstable energies across a wide powerband, and their combat shields have been reinforced with cold-layered alloys to withstand even greater firepower than their Covenant armor would allow. Ardent Hunters are often deployed at critical security sites from artifact excavations to vital convoy routes, command barracks, and forward war councils.[2]
History[edit]
Several Ardent Mgalekgolo fought in the Battle for Zeta Halo. Notably, Master Chief John-117 fought and defeated a pair of Ardent Mgalekgolo at the House of Reckoning,[4] then another pair at the Silent Auditorium.[5]
Gameplay[edit]
Ardent Hunters are among the toughest non-boss enemies encountered in Halo Infinite, being more durable and aggressive than the standard Hunter pair. Ardents fire their Assault cannon like their regular brethren, and the armor on their back is still destructible. However, Ardent Hunters enter the enraged condition when their health is low, rather than when a bond brother is killed; as such, it is possible to have both Hunters in a pair enraged at the same time.
