The Asymmetrical Action Group (AAG) is an unconventional warfare unit within the Office of Naval Intelligence's Beta-5 Division.[1][2]
Background[edit]
Late in the Human-Covenant War, the Office of Naval Intelligence created the Asymmetrical Action Group as a cross-branch effort to disarm, disrupt, and dissolve Covenant activities.[1] The group was formed around unconventional warfare veterans, though it eventually began to incorporate Spartans into its ranks, such as Joshua-029.[1][3]
Though the AAG's non-Spartan operators wore their own standard armor, the Beta-5 Division contracted Chalybs Defense Solutions to create a variant of the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor for its in-field Spartan operators. The resulting product, the MJOLNIR Mark V Operator variant, is designed to provide detailed on-the-fly transmissions that can circumvent most Covenant security networks.[1]
By October 2558, the Beta-5 AAG adopted the Legendary VISR for their Spartan units, albeit with custom plugins developed by ONI's internal teams.[4]
