Halo: Rise of Atriox is a comic book anthology produced by Dark Horse Comics. A tie-in to the Halo Wars 2 video game, Rise of Atriox is a five-chapter mini-series that delves into the past of the Jiralhanae warlord Atriox, exploring his rise from Covenant soldier to ruthless Chieftain of the Banished faction.[2]

Official summary

Atriox, the legendary Brute under the command of the alien collective known as the Covenant, leads a Brute assault against a UNSC military outpost. Wave after wave of Brutes are lost attacking the human outpost defended by a group of UNSC marines, the ruthless Atriox soldiers on. As his comrades fall, Atriox's hatred for the Covenant grows.[3]

Official summary

Atriox looks to Decimus to find others who can help the Banished expand their tech and maintain their fleet as the number of Banished continues to grow. Decimus recalls a Kig-Yar scientist named Sig Raan who resides in a secret Covenant facility on the planet Otraak. Is Sig Raan still loyal to the Covenant or will Decimus be able to convince her to help the Banished?[5]

Official summary

Atriox and his Banished forces are seemingly interrupted while assaulting a UNSC forward base by a Covenant warship led by the Shipmaster Let 'Volir. With the Banished forces pushed back, Let 'Volir is able to capture Atriox. But before the Shipmaster can claim victory, Atriox presents him with an offer and reveals that he has other plans for 'Volir, his ship, and its crew.[6]
