Biography[edit]

Harvest[edit]

In October 2525, Captain Veredi led CMA Battle Group 4. The battle group consisted of his own ship, the destroyer UNSC Heracles and two frigates, the Arabia and the Vostok. They were deployed to discover why contact had been lost with the planet Harvest and the scout ship Argo, which had been deployed six months earlier.[1]

On October 7, the battle group entered the Epsilon Indi system only to discover that the planet had been rendered a wasteland, with what left that was not incinerated into molten glass undergoing a nuclear winter. This high-temperature bombardment would later become known as "glassing".

First contact[edit]

In orbit around the remains of the colony world was a single alien ship, which proceeded to attack the battle group; within one minute, it destroyed both the Arabia and the Vostok and badly damaged the Heracles.[Note 1] Before the ship attacked the Battle Group, Veredi attempted to follow the UNSC's first contact protocol to no avail.[2][3]

The aliens tranmitted a message to the Heracles, which had already been translated into English The message stated, "Your destruction is the will of the Gods, and we are their instrument."[1][2][3]

Trivia[edit]

Despite the Halo Encyclopedia (2009 edition) establishing Battle Group 4 as a CMA fleet element, Veredi's uniform tunic has a UNSC patch.

List of appearances[edit]

Notes[edit]

  1. ^ According to Halo Wars: Genesis, Battle Group 4 was attacked by a Rasus-pattern interdictor. However, according to Halo: Fall of Reach - Boot Camp, the Battle Group encountered the cruiser Rapid Conversion.
