Invariant Bias is a Contender-class ancilla created by the Forerunners to serve as the Custodian of the Absolute Record, an archive of information regarding Forerunner technology. In 2558, Dr. Catherine Halsey, who was in possession of the Janus Key, nearly succeeded in taking control of the archive. However, with the help of several Spartan-IVs, Invariant Bias regained control and confiscated the Janus Key.
