"May your name echo the loudest through the Hall of Eternity."
— Old Sangheili saying

The Hall of Eternity was an eternal underworld hall from ancient Sangheili mythology.

Background[edit]

The dark hall was closely tied with the god-star Fied, who wandered it never-endingly in worn out sandals while swinging a lantern lit with Urs' flame. According to Sangheili belief, Fied would roam the Hall of Eternity and never stop calling out the names of dead Sangheili who died honorably, until the very last Sangheili in the universe breathed their last breath.[1] After adopting the Forerunners as their new gods, many old Sangheili myths faded away but some were never forgotten.[2] Even well after the Covenant ended, the Sangheili still strived to die with honor so that their names would not be forgotten by Fied and be echoed throughout the Hall of Eternity forever.[3]
