Rise of humanity[edit]
The colony ship Spirit of Fire was deployed to the planet in 2520; this would be the ship's last mission before it was appropriated by the UNSC Navy as a combat support vessel.[4]
Human-Covenant war[edit]
Verent was glassed during the Human-Covenant War when the Covenant attacked the planet. Only a small portion of Verent's population escaped aboard fleeing transport ships.[2]
