By [[2517]], she had been captain of a cargo ship for fifteen years. Prior to this, she had served as a first officer for nine years, and as a navigation officer for ten years. Over her career, none of the ships she served on had been [[Boarding|boarded]].

On [[2517|September 24, 2517]], however, when ''Dartmouth'' arrived at the [[Eridanus system]], the ship was intercepted and boarded by the local cell of the [[Insurrectionist]]s, under the personal command of [[Colonel]] [[Robert Watts]]. The captain requested escort from the [[UNSC frigate|frigate]] [[UNSC Journeyman|''Journeyman'']] and asked [[Amtower]] to continue their course for [[Eridanus II]]. She and her bridge officers, [[McNally]] and [[Welke]], then attempted to repel the boarders with [[M45 Tactical Shotgun]]s. The crew was quickly gunned down by the rebels.<ref name="issue2"/>
