During the opening actions of the [[Battle of Earth]], [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]] [[Boarding|boarders]] invaded ''Cairo Station''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s Hangar A-01 directly. A [[Covenant boarding craft]] had docked and sent forth waves of [[Unggoy]] and [[Sangheili]]. [[UNSC Marine Corps|Marine]] defenders, equipped with [[BR55 Battle Rifle|Battle Rifle]]s, [[M7/Caseless Submachine Gun|SMGs]], and even a [[M247 General Purpose Machine Gun|M247 GPMG turret]], were being overwhelmed at their position at the second floor when [[John-117]] came to assist, killing all the Covenant in the bay. John-117 then moved to adjacent [[Hangar A-02]]. The Marines suffered only minor casualties.
