Orion is a Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer map created from the Forge canvas Alpine.

Overview[edit]

This small, rectangular map features an asymmetrical layout with a mix of close combat and long, elevated sight-lines. The MLRS-1 Hydra and the sniper rifle are the featured power weapons on the map. The map also contains an energy sword in the central platform.[2]

Production notes[edit]

The map was removed from Halo 5: Guardians' matchmaking on November 5, 2015, due to players getting booted from matches after committing suicide too many times in an attempt to reach the map's damage boost.[3]

A new version of Orion was recreated by a community member Black Picture, and underwent internal playtests by 343 Industries' multiplayer team.[4] It was released as Orion II.
