The Barug'qel Workshop Attack Bike is a variant in the Chopper line of vehicles, used by the Banished.[1]

Overview[edit]

Design details[edit]

The Baruq'qel Choppers are much in the same vein as their regular and Covenant-era counterparts. They consist of two massive wheels on the front, and a driver located at the vehicle's rear - protected from enemy fire. The flanks of the vehicle leave the driver exposed to enemy fire. The vehicle is equipped with two Paegaas Workshop Spiker autocannons, which in themselves are capable of being upgraded to fire explosive shrapnel rounds.[2]

The front of the vehicle is equipped with heavy armor plating and massive spikes, capable of allowing the vehicle to ram enemy targets and punch through light vehicles such as Warthogs. These blades form the Chopper's namesake, and a reflection of the Brutes' savage culture.[2]

Development history[edit]

The Barug'qel Chopper was developed by the eponymous Barug'qel Workshop, and is mass-manufactured through the Armory of Gethrog. It was designed to be a much more heavily-armoured vehicle, designed to plow through fortifications and enemy vehicles with ease.[1]

Usage[edit]

The Banished Chopper variants are extremely coveted and popular vehicles. Troops under Atriox's command often compete with each other to become a Chopper driver in the Banished outrider squadrons, with these competitions resulting in many deaths and injuries among Banished personnel.[2]

Operational history[edit]

In March 2559, the Banished used their own modified version of the Chopper during operations against the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire on Installation 00.[3] Blue Team later encountered Choppers deployed by Banished forces on Reach during Operation: WOLFE.[4]

Variants[edit]

  • Terror Chopper: This variant of the Banished Chopper equips the aforementioned shrapnel rounds alongside an increased mass of armor and ramming spikes.[1][5]

Gameplay[edit]

Phoenix log[edit]

Aggressive scout and anti-infantry vehicle.

The Brute counterpart to the Ghost, Choppers are durable raiding vehicles that can deal out punishment with its twin spiker autocannons and ability to ram enemy forces that approach too close. The spike cannons can be upgraded with shrapnel rounds for additional explosive punch.

The Chopper gets its name from sharp rotary blades mounted at the front of the chassis to ram enemy vehicles and shred ground troops, a savage tactic reflective of Brute culture. Choppers are so popular among the Banished that competition to become a driver in the outrider squadrons is a major source of death and injury among Atriox's packs.
