He was picked up with Johnson and the Chief when they took a Pelican and flew back to the Pillar of Autumn. When the Pillar of Autumn was boarded, John-117 recognized him (but did not remember his name) and saved him from a Kig-yar soldier. He was killed either when the Covenant boarded the Pillar of Autumn or during the  Battle of Installation 04.

It is likely he was the Crazed Marine from the Raid on the weapons cache . When John-117 encounters Johnson's squad, Jenkins and Bisenti are also part of it. The Crazed Marine only mentions Johnson, Bisenti, and Mendoza, and not Jenkins.

Biography[edit]

Fall of Reach[edit]

Main article: Fall of Reach

When Reach was attacked, O'Brien, along with Staff Sergeant Avery Johnson, PFC Wallace Jenkins, and Private Bisenti, were stationed above the planet. They were fighting a very large group of Kig-yar boarders with difficulty when MCPO John-117 and PO2s Linda-058 and James-005 boarded the station to destroy the logs of the ONI ship, UNSC Circumference.[1] O'Brien and his Marine companions helped them accomplish this task, although James was lost and Linda was badly wounded. When they completed their mission, they were taken by a D77-TC Pelican dropship to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn, escaping the ensuing destruction of Reach.[2]

Production notes[edit]

While the subsequent whereabouts of Johnson, Bisenti, and Jenkins on Installation 04 are known, it is unclear what happened to O'Brien. In Halo: The Flood, the Master Chief briefly encounters an unnamed wounded marine on the Pillar of Autumn who he remembers rescuing from an orbital station above Reach. This may be O'Brien.
