Contrition was a Covenant CAR-class starship. The ship sent a message to the UNSC object, Hermes II. Due to its hull classification being identified as "DE", the Contrition may have been a destroyer escort.
Background
Contrition was only mentioned in the promotional Transmissions for Halo: Combat Evolved, featured on Bungie's website, and may perhaps not even be official canon.
