Raj Singh was a UNSC Marine Technical Officer aboard the UNSC Red Horse during their mission to the Soell system as part of a top-secret mission authorized by the Office of Naval Intelligence.[2]
Biography[edit]
Mission aboard Mona Lisa[edit]
- Main article: Skirmish on Mona Lisa
As the Red Horse sifted through the debris field of Installation 04, looking for survivors, they discovered a damaged escape pod. Singh, aided by Clarence and Burgundy,[2] would proceed to inspect the pod and eventually pry it open, discovering a delirious and mortally wounded survivor.[3]
Singh, along with his subordinate engineers Gersten and Sydney,[4] were then assigned to Sergeant Lopez's squad during their investigation of the prison ship Mona Lisa. Unbeknownst to the squad, however, instead of a prison riot or Covenant attack as initially suspected, the ship suffered a Flood outbreak as a result of the actions of ONI operative John Smith.
The Marines then divided into two groups in order to purge the Mona Lisa's navigational databases in accordance with their new orders, with Singh being assigned to the team led by Sergeant Lopez. Shortly after Major Smith had betrayed the team and escaped, Singh and the rest of the group were attacked by a Sangheili combat form and a Flood-infected Ayad. As a technician, Singh lacked the reflexes or training of a combat-oriented Marine, and failed to dodge a blow by the Ayad combat form's appendage. He was thrown against a wall with incredible force, shattering his skull.[5][Note 1]
