Name 'Escharum'[edit]
This is definitely derived from the medical term eschar, which is burnt skin that loses its elasticity and would imply he has severe burns.

Someone should update his picture and switch it to the 2022 Halo Encylopedia one where he's shown in his full armor + helmet
