The Mark VIII Cryogenic Suspension Chamber (CSC) is the newest model of UNSC-issue cryogenic storage unit. Manufactured by Jakubaitis Standard Systems, it replaced the Mark VII Personal Suspension Unit.[1] John-117 was frozen in one of these tubes for over four years aboard the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn after the Ark's portal collapsed.[2]
