The Shaw Institute Facility is a deep space observatory and space station located at the very outermost periphery of the Sol system, operated by the Unified Earth Government.[1] The station is named after Tobias Fleming Shaw, one of the co-creators of the Shaw-Fujikawa translight engine. Researchers at the Shaw Institute operate the largest and most capable deep space observatory available to humanity. The facility is covertly supported by the Office of Naval Intelligence, though its interests remain purely scientific in nature.[2]
