- "What’s that? You don’t enjoy hot metal being hurled at you from uncomfortable distances while you’re just trying to mind your own business and defend humanity? Well, too bad so sad, shouldn’t have made the Brutes mad."
- — Jeff Easterling[1]
The Scrap Cannon is a turreted weapon emplacement in service with the Banished. It saw use during the Installation 07 conflict in 2560.[1]
Overview
The Scrap Cannon fires spikes similar to the Spiker, the Mangler, and the Skewer, but at "uncomfortable" ranges. As with many turreted weapons, it can be detached from its base to be fired from the hip. [1] The Scrap Cannon is wielded by Jiralhanae Chieftains including Tovarus and Escharum. The Scrap Cannon was manufactured by the Forge of Teash and developed by the Grenflekt workshop.[2]
Production notes
During the early development of Halo Infinite, the weapon was nicknamed the "gatling mortar."[1]
