John's mother gave birth to her son in Elysium City, Eridanus II in 2511. She lived there with her son and husband. They were a relatively normal family; in his adult years as a SPARTAN-II, John remembered her as being kind, and associated her with the distinctive smell of soap.[1] She had her son attend school at Elysium City Primary Education Facility Number 119.[2] She also let her son play with his friends Parisa and Ellie Bloom.[3][4] When John was six years old, he was abducted by the Office of Naval Intelligence and replaced with a flash clone without his mother's knowledge.[5]
John's mother eventually would witness the clone of her son die, believing him to be her real son.[3]
