'''Private Riley''' was a friend of [[Private (UNSC)|Private]] [[Kappus]], and was in the same squad as, Private Kappus [[Bisenti]], [[Manuel Mendoza]], [[Private First Class|PFC]] [[Wallace A. Jenkins]], [[Chips Dubbo]], and [[Corporal (UNSC)|Corporal]] [[Lovik]]. His squad leader was [[Staff Sergeant]] [[Avery Johnson]]. He barely has any lines in the game, save for a few groans and yells, and is only notable for the fact that he is the first recorded [[Human]] successfully attacked by an [[Infection Form]], when in the game ''[[Halo Wars]]'' some UNSC personnel become infected, however, this was not recorded because the [[UNSC Spirit of Fire|''Spirit of Fire'']] apparently never returned back to UNSC space, or even if it was the Flood encounters were never released. When he was attacked by the creatures, [[Private (UNSC)|Private]] [[Kappus]] attempted to pull it off of him. Though the Infection Form is soon removed by Kappus, it is undoubtedly assumed that another soon found him.<ref>[[Halo: The Flood]], page 174</ref>

==Trivia==

*On very rare occasions the player can see an assault rifle underneath Riley while Kappus is trying to pull the infection form off him, which is strange, since Riley seems to be holding an assault rifle.
