Obote is an area of Mombasa, Kenya.
History[edit]
During the early stages of the Battle of Mombasa, Sadie Endesha and Mike Branley traveled to Obote from Kwakiziwi in Commissioner Kinsler's stolen car.[1] After having an argument, Mike left Sadie on the side of the road near the Old Town Market.[2] Refugees from New Mombasa were fleeing through Obote while a vendor from the Old Town Market was giving them free kebabs.[3] Sadie then ran to a casino in Koinage.[4]
Obote was possibly eviscerated when the Covenant glassed parts of the city.[5]
Geography[edit]
The Old Mombasa entrance to one of the bridges to Mombasa Island, is either in view of or in Obote.[6]
Locations[edit]
Trivia[edit]
Similar to Lumumba, there is a street called "Obote Avenue" in Mombasa. It's possible that the district is named after former Ugandan Prime Minister Milton Obote.
