A Master Chief Story, also known under The Master Chief & Blue Team, is a subtitle given to a series of stories published by 343 Industries focusing around the eponymous character of John-117 - the Master Chief. The Master Chief Story series centers on John-117 as a primary character, often including the actions of fellow Blue Team, consisting of Frederic-104, Kelly-087 and Linda-058.
The current Master Chief Story series consists of three novels and a comic book series. The three books - Halo: Silent Storm, Halo: Oblivion and Halo: Shadows of Reach - and the comic series - the three-part Halo: Collateral Damage - explore the actions of the Master Chief and Blue Team in and around the start of the Human-Covenant War, exploring the relationship of the UNSC and the Insurrectionists in the wake of the arrival of the Covenant, as well as featuring Covenant perspectives on the early war, notably that of Fleetmaster Nizat 'Kvarosee. Halo: Collateral Damage[edit]

Released in three issues between June–August 2018, Collateral Damage sees Blue Team deployed onto the planet Alpha Corvi II to stop the Covenant's invasion of the planet. During the conflict, the team is forced to make a temporary alliance with a group of Insurrectionists to have any chance of winning.
Halo: Silent Storm[edit]

The 2019 direct sequel to Silent Storm, Oblivion once again features the Master Chief and Blue Team, this time on a mission to capture the Covenant frigate Steadfast Strike. The book features returning character Nizat 'Kvarosee, who is using the Steadfast Strike to lure in the Office of Naval Intelligence following his failures in Silent Storm.
Halo: Shadows of Reach[edit]

Unlike the prior works in the A Master Chief Story series, which take place in the early days of the war with the Covenant, Shadows of Reach takes place in October 2559, a year following the end of 2015's Halo 5: Guardians. The book sees Blue Team deployed to the now-glassed remnants of Reach to the ruins of CASTLE Base to recover secret information that may help lead to the defeat of Cortana and the Created, fighting against the Banished and the Keepers of the One Freedom in the process.
