Shadows is the twenty-fourth track in Halo: Original Soundtrack.
Overview[edit]
The track is notably the shortest track in the Halo: Original Soundtrack. The piece begins with high strings, followed by siren sound effects (like those heard in Truth and Reconciliation Suite), with percussion fading in, and finally joined by electric guitar. In-game, only the siren sounds were used.
Appearances[edit]
The soundtrack can be heard:
- In the level Halo, during the opening cutscene.
- In the level The Library, when John-117 holds position at a locked door on the third floor of the Library.
Arrangements[edit]
The siren sound effect would become associated with the Flood throughout the series, and used again in the following tracks:
- Shudder in Mausoleum Suite of Halo 2: Original Soundtrack.
- Gravemind of Halo 3: Original Soundtrack.
- Punishment in Halo Reborn of Halo 3: Original Soundtrack.
- Between Beams of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Original Soundtrack.
