Prior to making the journey to the Ark onboard the Enduring Conviction, the Unggoy serving the Banished known as Yapyap was told of them by a Kig-Yar fortune-teller. After arriving at the Ark, he eventually broke away from Atriox's thrall in order to go in search of these mines.[1]
