This article is about the UNSC rank. For the Covenant rank, see Imperial Admiral.
Admiral is a senior commissioned officer rank of the UNSC Navy, equal in rank to General in the UNSC Marine Corps and UNSC Army. It is immediately below the rank of Fleet Admiral, the highest known UNSC Navy rank.
Title
While Admiral is a rank of its own, the title "Admiral" is often used to refer to any of the flag officer ranks of the UNSC Navy:
Due to the ambiguity of the title "Admiral", Admirals are often known as a "Four Star Admiral" or "Full Admiral" to distinguish it from subordinate ranks of Admiral. The term "Four Star Admiral" comes from the rank insignia worn on the uniform.
