UNSC Jericho was a UNSC Destroyer in the late 25th century. In 2494, it was involved in the Callisto Incident.[1]
Operational history
After the UNSC corvette Callisto was captured by Insurrectionists, the UNSC sent a group of destroyers to recapture it: the Jericho, the Las Vegas, and the Buenos Aires.
On March 2, 2494, the group found the Callisto in the 26 Draconis System, and the destroyers each fired six of their Ares Missiles. However, the Callisto managed to avoid destruction by hiding behind an asteroid. They then shattered the rock towards the UNSC ships by detonating a nuclear warhead that had been planted earlier. The Buenos Aires was destroyed and lost with all hands. The Jericho and Las Vegas were severely damaged. External Camera 6-K, part of the sensory equipment on the Jericho, was destroyed in the incident.
Trivia
It is most likely named after the city of Jericho.
