The Houses of Parliament, also known as the Palace of Westminster, was once the meeting place of the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom on Earth. In the 22nd century, the Houses of Parliament was badly damaged in an act of domestic terrorism. With the rise of the Unified Earth Government, the Parliament ultimately dissolved over time. The palace was partially restored by the late 25th century by the UEG, with new designs that appear both patriotic and nostalgic. By 2558, the building hosts a tribunal court of the United Nations Space Command.[1]
Built in the late 25th century, the room used by the UNSC tribunal court is cavernous and dimly lit, and features wood and leather furniture. The room has towering walls composed of leaded glass, with hovering sconces approximately nine meters off the ground. The palace's architecture is deliberately churchlike in appearance. Some of the original wood used in the palace's design still has cordite scorch marks from the 22nd century terrorist act, though further decay is prevented by a polymer varnish.[1]
