Imber is a Unified Earth Government Inner Colony world. Late in the Human-Covenant War, the Covenant attacked the colony and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and at least one Spartan, Kelly-087 were deployed to defend it. Operation: DEVIL FREEDOM was concerned with the evacuation of civilians from the planet and the targeting of Covenant landing craft for orbital bombardment. During the battle, Staff Sergeant Malcolm Geffen, Corporal Vasily Beloi and Emanuel Barakat hijacked a Spirit to exfiltrate from the planet.[1] The Covenant dropship later ended up on Criterion and was left there by the ODSTs.[2] Imber was the homeworld of SPARTAN-II Kelly-087.[3]
