The Hammer Spree is a spree medal awarded in Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach multiplayer, campaign and Firefight. In Halo 3: ODST it is awarded for killing five opponents in a row with the Gravity Hammer without dying.[1] In Halo: Reach the medal does not require kills to be consecutive, just that the player kill five enemies with a Gravity Hammer without dying.
Unlike other weapon spree medals, you can use both RT and B to get kills towards this medal, and to ultimately save ammo.
It is represented by a steel four-pointed star with a Gravity Hammer on a blue background in the center.
Trivia
- Earning this medal on Assembly will unlock the Hammer Time Achievement.
- There is a noticeable delay between when the fifth kill is earned and when the spree is awarded. This is possibly due to the Hammer having a longer melee animation than other weapons, although no such delay occurs with the Dreamcrusher or Wrecking Crew announcements.
