Venus is the second planet in orbit around Sol, with no natural satellites. Though a terrestrial planet with a dense atmosphere largely composed of carbon dioxide, Venus was once a candidate for human colonization. At some point following 2080, humans initiated a terraforming project on Venus in an effort to colonize the planet, though the project ultimately failed.[1][note 1]

- Halo Mythos (First appearance)
- Halo: Silent Storm (Mentioned only)
Notes
- ^ In Halo: Silent Storm, Avery Johnson mentioned that a possible consequence of defying an ONI admiral was "guarding snowballs on Venus." Although clearly an exaggeration, it runs contrary to the planet's traditionally-hot surface temperature, hinting that a terraforming project succeeded in rendering the planet more suitable for human habitation.
