In the waxing months of the Human-Covenant war, and in the after of the overwhelmingly successful UNSC OPERATION: SILENT STORM, the UNITED Nations Space Command has put its faith in the SPARTAN-IIs led by the newly-promoted Master Chief Petty Officer Spartan John-117. In response to the humans' unpredictable strategies and tactics, the Covenant begins attacking the Outer Colonies with new resolve and destroying them faster than evacuations can be ordered. Mankind's best chance for survival (other than the SPARTAN-IIs) is a Covenant frigate filled with valuable technology that could help them win the war.
