Service history
At some point between 2362 and 2390, UNSC Gannick explored an uncharted planet with a hostile environment, with the intent of future colonization. The vessel's crew, consisting of twenty-two scientists and pioneers ventured to the planet's surface to survey the world. Ultimately, the entire crew of UNSC Gannick died during the exploration of the planet. To honor the legacy of the ship and its crew, the planet was named Gannick 22, after the name of the vessel and the number of individuals that made up the crew. Gannick 22 would later become a heavily populated Inner Colony.[1]
