A simple mention warrants an article? I think not. Ross Island article can simply have a wikipedia link to Mount Erebus. In fact, Im gonna do that right now.HAcame 20:43, 30 March 2012 (EDT)
- It wasn't a simple mention. The Covenant were searching for artifacts at Mount Erebus, so it should stay--File:Colonel Grade One.png|20px]] Col. Spartacus Talk Page Contributions Contact 20:48, 30 March 2012 (EDT)
- It's a simple mention not more than two sentences in the book. How is that even notable? Such information can be covered in the parent article, which is the Ross Island article. This is simply promoting redundancy. HAcame 20:52, 30 March 2012 (EDT)
- Edit: I would appreciate it if you could stop from jumping the gun and hitting the revert button/undoing people's edit before people reach a consensus... you simply promoting an edit-war.. 9_9 HAcame 20:58, 30 March 2012 (EDT)
- It takes two to edit war, bro.--File:Colonel Grade One.png|20px]] Col. Spartacus Talk Page Contributions Contact 21:06, 30 March 2012 (EDT)
- Ok, Bro. I'll play by your rule. Notability policy requires that
"Significant coverage" means that sources address the subject directly in detail, and no original research is needed to extract the content. Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention but it need not be the main topic of the source material. In short, apply the "Trivial" test.
This article does not meet this test; it's trivial, mentioned in a single sentence, and pretty much of it can be covered in Ross Island article. So, bro, how 'bout it? HAcame 21:10, 30 March 2012 (EDT)- They blew up the Havok at Mount Erebus as part of the Battle of Ross Island. Therefore it's notable.--File:Colonel Grade One.png|20px]] Col. Spartacus Talk Page Contributions Contact 21:13, 30 March 2012 (EDT)
- You simply prove my point; that information is notable, but this article is not; in other words, the information is not trivial but this article is. That information can be easily covered in Ross Island article. Just because it is mentioned in a sentence doesn't mean it should have its own article; you can have a better article by coherently and concisely put all information in one article than spreading it through multiple articles.HAcame 21:18, 30 March 2012 (EDT)
